Advice Qualit
y and Operations Managers will make sure
clients get accurate and appropriate advice and that advisers
are supported and can develop their skills.
Maintain a consistent quality of advice and help for clients

service development.
This role is vital in fostering a culture of quality and
excellence within the agency, ensuring that both staff and

MaPS Community Based Debt Caseworker
Working within the aims, policies, and principles of the
Citizens Advice Service, the MaPS-funded Community Debt
Caseworker will provide specialist support to clients with a
range of debt and related financial issues.
The main office for this role is Stevenage, but the postholder
will be required to travel across Hertfordshire to provide debt
advice in person, by telephone, video calling, and email,
ensuring the most appropriate advice channel is offered
based on client circumstances, vulnerability, and complexity.
The successful candidate will provide holistic debt and
budgeting advice, using independent information sources
and internal tools, ensuring clients understand their debt
options. All client interactions will integrate financial
capability support and, where appropriate, referrals to other
Citizens Advice services or specialist agencies.

designed for individuals committed to learning and

FAQ
Will volunteering help me get a job?
Around 30% of our volunteers who leave Citizens Advice Stevenage go on to paid employment. Local Citizens Advice volunteering provides skills and experience that is valued by many employers
How much time do i need to give?
We require you to 8 hours per week. This can be one full day or, preferably, two half days. Our advice sessions run from 10am-1pm in the morning and 1pm-4pm in the afternoon.
Our longest standing volunteer to date has been with us for nineteen years!
What support will I get?
All of our volunteers are supported and supervised throughout their time at Citizens Advice Stevenage. When you join us you will get more details about who is supporting you day to day.
If you are an adviser, there is an Advice Quality Supervisor on duty at each advice session to guide and support you. We make sure that you're not put in situations that are beyond your abilities.

Do you provide training?
All volunteers receive an induction when joining their local Citizens Advice and all receive comprehensive, free, high quality training. This training may consist of working through study packs, online training, face-to-face courses and observing advisers or other volunteers and staff in their roles.
Will I get my expenses paid?
We will reimburse reasonable travel to and from training sessions, and travel to and from the office for your volunteering shift and other out-of-pocket expenses. We will let you know during the recruitment process, what expenses we can reimburse
